How do I become an Interior decorator Intern a person with no degree, but willing to learn from experts?

Question:I live in Atlanta, Georgia and have always wanted to do interior decorating, I have not degree in the field, only a strong desire to work and learn all aspects of interior decorating. I am 56 years old and willing to learn hands on at this point in my life.

Answers:
I also did the Penn Foster program and upon completion of the exam became a Certified Interior Decorator. I highly recommend a program like that when you do not want to have to attend school for two or more years, or also, in my case, I wanted to be an interior decorator not an interior designer. You can work at your own pace and the price is quite reasonable.

You could look into starting out with a furniture store where they offer interior design services on staff. Places like Ethan Allen, Thomasville, Lazy Boy, and I'm sure there are many others. You may only start with the front desk or stocking items, reorganizing the fabric samples - small things, but you could work your way up from there.

i hope it's what u want... good luck!
Way to go! You can do this easily. Have you considered an online course or correspondance course? Quality of Course offers a very good course that you can do at your own pace. Once you have the diploma, it's easy to get work.

Another solution is to become a home stager. Type home staging into the google search engine... you'll find what you're looking for.

The problem with not having a diploma is that most designers will want someone with one and the design companies won't take you without one... unless you get really lucky...

Good luck. Life is too short not to go after what you want!
