What wall color is the best for twelve years old and up?

Question:My room will be repainted and at the meantime, while we're still scraping off the old wallpaper, I want to know what color that suits for girls aged twelve years old and above. : )

Answers:
I think lavender is a neutral color. It's not for boys but not too "girly" either.

I would suggest a light blue. A lot of girls have blue as their favorite color, and hardly any will dislike the color. I'd say that's the safest choice.
The latest colors for teenage girls is something in a muted tone. I would recommend a light sage, with accents in white.

This is the color scheme I see most on HGTV and it's beautiful!

Good luck and have fun with it! For more ideas, why not check out the Pottery Barn for Kids catalog? There are some great room decorating ideas there (and you don't have to order from them... just peruse their ideas!).
Standard pink for girls, blues for boys, greens for a mixed room
A12 year old girl is a pre-teen what she likes now is going to change overnight as she becomes a teenager. Check out Pottery Barn For Teens Catalogue for color combinations and the types of decor that appeal to teen girls.
At there age, I would let them pick a color and go for it.
ask the girl ... i know a girl when she was 12 she asked for her room to be painted a royal blue.it looked great.
if you are the girl who is asking , i would tell you to look at the stuff which will be displayed in this room and take a colour from one of the pieces.like say you have a painting your gramma gave you . find in this painting a colour you like and try to match it. it should not be the most prominent colour in the painting .
I suggest you try for light pink wallpaper it suits for little girls...And try adding some cool breeze wavy & swirly designs of different white/pink shades and also add unicorns, pegasus & ponies's poses and last rainbow.
Hope you like my idea:)
I'm 19 and my room is covered with bright colorful wallpaper.my name, nickname was written on it.I'm happy with it.it makes me feel 'here is only my room'.
how about lilac, but the wall behind your bed (or the main focal point wall) could be a darker brighter purple.

hi you have to decide first, what effect you want to create in this particular room, color have different reaction, some stimulate, they calm you down, they relax you, they can alter your mood, make you happy or make you sad. look online for color reactions. visit this site and will explain how people react to color. I hope this help.
ask your daughter first and get her to choose a few colours that she likes .. then both of you can go shopping to a renovators/painting store and get them to show you on their system the room in these colours and effects that your daughter would like to achieve.. also i think that at this age is when we go back to liking our decorations like butterflies and other cute piictures. let your daugter choose the colours but as the mother you can decide what you think is appropriate. hope this helped some
