Does anyone own anything from the HEMNES lines of furniture from IKEA?
Question:Hi, I was wondering if anyone has bought the bed, chest of drawers, or wardrobe unit. I have bought IKEA products before, and some are great, while others kind of fall apart quickly. Any information on this line would be great. Thanks.

yes, we looked at the bed for our spare room. not impressed at all. (we can see them in the store in michigan). It was a cheap pressboard, and the finish is not paint. it is more like a heavier shrink wrap plastic. We did buy a nightstand (hemnes) and for the price, it was fine. the nightstand gets little use in the spare room, and should last.
If this is a bed that you will use more than once a month I would say no. I didnt feel comfortable with the quality. It looked more like the sauder woodworks (pressboard) quality.
my daugher and i was looking at the dresser for her room but i had an ikea flash back..lol ok we bought the chair that curves and looks real cool but her being a teen and slapping her body into it everynight after school well it fell apart. same with the footstool that matched. slapping her feet on it... i had bought a table for my dining area at the same time and had put it together. everything was going well until i had to put the stupied legs on it. the legs werent sturdy enough and kept falling off. well i had to drive back up to the chicago area and return that. the chair lasted for about a year. so i was a little leary of any of their furniture there. got a really nice dresser at a local store in indianapolis (l fish) for 395.00 it was in the clarence section and was orginally 1400.00 only had a scratch on it and you cant even see the scratch now that it is in the bedroom. i had planned to sharpe it becouse it is a wonderful shade of black. personally i would only buy their candles baskets glass rugs and fabrics. leave the furniture to real furniture stores.
