I want to redo my room?

Question:im 14 and i really like alternative music. but my mom says nothing black. but i want black in there some how. any ideas??

Answers:
Use black as an accent for example, blue walls with black lamps and blue and black striped covers. hope that helps!

I agree with your mom...black is hard to cover. Go with a nice soft color...nothing bright and dark. Accent with black pillows, comforter w/black in it...hey why not go with black and white...polka dots etc. Look around and you will find the right decor. Try HGTV.com and watch HGTV if you have it.
What about red and tan for your bedding and using the black as accents. Do you want a Gothic look? Medieval castle? Like the Adam's Family or the Munsters?

You could hang black iron scrolled plaques on your walls, maybe have a black tall candelabra. They have wallpaper that looks like stone. Like the walls of a castle. You could use that as an accent wall behind your bed. If you can, use a iron headboard or shop some antique stores for gates to use. Some warm woods would look nice.
Use black shades on your lamps. I don't know if you are into gargoyles, but maybe one on your dresser.

There are a lot of styles to alternative music with different influences.

Maybe you could hang black sheer panels to frame your bed.

I hope this helps.
