Part of my fence is stained and the other part is not. How can I match the two sides?

Question:The part of the fence that is not stained has water damage and looks grey. The other part of the fence that is stained looks light brown. The Home Owners Association does not allow me to stain my fence to dark.

Answers:
Send a letter to your Association and ask them what they want you to do. Let them know that it looks bad now, and you want to improve it.

Generally, if you ask them if you can do something that will improve it, they will let you. That is the purpose of an association - to maintain the value of the homes.

I would get some oil based Kiltz and kiltz the whole fence and then paint it.
