50 amp stove outlet, mount on wall or floor?
Question:Kitchen is gutted and sheetrock is going up today but I have no clue what to with the stove outlet.
Answers:
I have been using the floor mount box that comes as a 1 piece outlet its cheaper than getting all the parts to place it in the wall . and most of the time I put a wall one in the plug on the stove hits the back of the stove so it can not be pushed all the way back, this never happens with the floor mounted outlet..
mount either outlet closest to the floor and off to one side not the center so . then the cord will never hit
Mount it where you can easily acess it, in case you have to move the stove.
Mine is on the wall and I prefer it, over floor mounted.
Put it in the wall. Water spills will not short out the outlet if it is mounted above floor level. If in floor and dishwasher line breaks or some other water line you have a serious hazard.
Put your outlet on the wall about 2" off the floor and center it in the middle of the range.you can get a flush or surface mount outlet.
