How high should a picture be hung on the wall? In general??
Question:
Answers:
The center of the picture should be at eye level - generally speaking.
a picture is suppose to be hung where when u look at it your looking at the middle of the picture, head high. hope that helped
1st - eye level.unless it's abstract
2nd - Size matters. Heavier pictures need to be anchored to a stud.
Sometimes you will find it easier to put 2 anchors in the wall to make leveling easier.
Check HD, Lowes or your local hardware store to see what anchoring devices they have for the type of walls you have.
(plaster, drywall, wood, etc.)
The best answer is wherever you like it best. After all, who's going to have to look at it the most? My personal answer is, at eye level. Put your favorite part of your favorite pic right in front of your eyes, and then hang everything else in line with the top or bottom of that frame. Have fun!
In general at eye level, but it also depends on whats around them; for instance they look good hung 6-8 inches above a bookcase.
Generally eye level, but my husbands eye is a lot higher than mine, so eye level is a relative term. Depending on how big the picture is and if there is anything else on the wall or furniture pushed up next to the wall, for instance, if your couch is directly in front of the wall, hang the picture so that there is equal space from the couch to the picture and from the picture to the ceiling.
eye level to the person who lives in the home is the general rule of decorating.
