My room is 18 ft. 15ft how many sq. ft of carpet would i need?
Question:
Answers:
multiply 18x15 = 270 sq feet
carpet usually goes by sq yards which you would need approx 30
Sq ft is 270
270 square feet
You need 270 square feet or 30 square yards.
To figure yourself next time, multiply the length times the width for feet and divide that by nine to get the yards.
18 x 15 = 270 square feet.
18 X 15 = 270 sq. ft., or 90 sq. yards
270 square feet of carpet.
18 x 15 = 270
You're kidding, right?
Your room's area is 270 sq ft, but you may need a bit more of carpet for wastage and odd corners and doorways.
It's 18x15 divided by 9 for square yards. Make sure you look at 15 foot rolls which they have now. That way no seams you would just need an 18 foot long piece.
I know how tempting it is to tell you to multiply 18 x 15. Actually, if you're buying carpet in a roll you need to do slightly more complex math. Since carpet is directional you will need to buy 30 lineal feet, off of what is likely a 12' wide roll. this means you need 360 square feet, and you'll have a big piece left over (6' x 12'). If you can find carpet on a wider roll, you may be able to get away with one piece. This is one of the reasons that in older homes, bedrooms rarely exceed 12' wide in one direction.
boogerboy and World Peace Now have it right. You will need to first determine what carpet, brand, style, model number, everything before you can determine how much you need. This will tell you how wide the roll of carpet will be.
Don't forget that if you have a closet, this will add to the dimension of the room, unless you intend to seam the existing or have another type of flooring.
I was unaware that they made carpet in 15' rolls. If you are on a budget you may need to determine what carpet comes in this width and buy accordingly.
I can't find one on line. I have developed a calculator specifically designed to calculate carpet rolls. If you want to buy it I will sell it to you or someone else for your use, cheap.
God Bless
