Installing plywood floors?

Question:instead of hardwood floor can i just install a plywood floor?

They did a plywood floor on an HGTV remodeling show--Debbie Travis, I think. Just put 3 coats of varnish on the plywood to keep splinters at bay.

Yes. You will fight with your local building inspector if you use anything under BC quality. You will probably have to make provisions for nail covering or you must screw it down. The big thing is splinters. If it's not being inspected, you can install cobb if you like. What do I care.
