My room is sooo boring...?

Question:I live in an apartment so I cant paint it, all the walls are white and I dont have alot of money to go spend to get new stuff is there anyway I can spice up my room?

Answers:
What I like to do is decorate with thing I already have. For instance you can put up inexpensive shelves from Ikea, Bed Bath & Beyond, Home Depot or even make some yourself with wood and paint; then you can group items that you use all the time that look nice. You can have a shelf of perfume or colgne bottles, purses, wine glasses, ect. (anything with color). The other thing you can do is get inexpensive frames from the dollar store and place 5 frames in a row (or however
many you want) with bright pictures from your own album or cut pictures from magazines. This will be both practicle and economical while jazzing up your space. Good luck and have fun.

my friend did this to her dorm room:
buy plain scrapbook paper (its thinner than construction paper and looks better)
and use it like a wallpaper for your walls..
she used a few different colors and had sort of a pattern to give it a little spice

we got hers at meijer for like 45c a piece or something, pretty cheap decorating if you ask me..
Have you tried looking into fun accessories from Ikea?
They have a magazine that gives you lots of different ideas and they are cheap.
Plus ideas on their website.

Have you verified with your apt manager you can't paint?
What's white compared to a little off whiter, or even more off white?
Let me tell you from experience, you are not going to get your deposit back on your apartment, so paint away! There isn't anything they can do besides hold your money which you aren't going to get back no matter how much you clean! GO FOR IT!
Find some fabric that you love and cover a large piece of cardboard or a canvas with it. This will add color to your walls without much expense. You can get relatively inexpensive canvases at Wal Mart or you might try checking thrift shops for paintings that you can just cover.

Also check out websites like HGTV.com and Better Homes and Gardens. There are a lot of great inexpensive ideas!
Sounds like you are looking for color! Some Suggestions:

1. As one person mentioned check with your apartment managers. I have had apartments I could paint as long as I re painted to the original color when I left. They like the deal because they have a fresh coat of paint at no cost to them!
If you do paint use oops paint (mistinted and can be found at home improvement stores in practically any color!) It's only $5 a gallon here :)

2. Cover walls in fabric. I've done this as well. I had very cheap fabric and just stapled it up and used it as wallpaper.

3. If you know of wallpaper you like you can also use that and just use sticky tac which will not even leave marks on the wall or on the paper so when you have a place you can stick it up in you will be able to reuse it.

4. Go a route without covering the entire walls and get large canvas and paint. You can get canvas used for covering the floor when you paint fairly inexpensive at home improvement stores and just but a picture frame from a thrift store. Doesn't matter what it looks like because you will cover it with the canvas and staple that to the back. They just paint it your fav color. Ad your favorite saying to it even.
You could also do this with a see through fabric and put low wattage rope lights around the inside of the frame to make mood lighting in color that will reflect off the other walls especially if they are white! Now that's a way to make color go far!

I am sure I could keep going but I know one of those will work for you! Most of all think about how long you will be there and don't do a lot of work putting something together that will be taken down soon if you are not planing on staying long. If you are then just have fun!!
1] put shelves for TV, stereo, CDs, etc. Decorate each shelf with a little candle, vase, or framed pictures in favorite colors.
2] frame posters or prints, and group them on one of the walls.
3] put a mirror on the wall opposite the window, or above the couch
4] put up photo collage collections of family, friends, vacations
in hallways or bedrooms
5] frame wine labels, seed packets, whatever has a food theme for kitchen or dining area.
