Does magnetic paint affect a computer's hard drive?

Question:I was thinking of painting my kids' playroom with magnetic paint, but I was concerned about the affect it may have on a computer's hard drive if we ever turn the room into a study or office.

Answers:
The amount of magnetic field energy required to affect a computer hard drive that is in its aluminium, magnet-resistant casing, would be equivalent to those used in junk yards by the huge electromagetic cranes. Painting the room with magnetic paint will NOT have that kind of magnetic energy unless you run electricity through the walls and electromagnetising it.
