Granite Countertop Color?
Question:Currently have bisque contemporary cabinets with caledonia granite countertops. Several years later, adding an island. Cannot get same granite. The island cabinets will be cherry wood with a cranberry stain. What color should I go with on the granite countertop for the island? My husband wants absolute black; but I'm concerned about the care. I have a very bright kitchen.

Black looks good but is terrible to keep clean. Find something else.
The absolute black is always a safe choice for look even in a bright kitchen. You may also want to check out Zodiac, which balances great with granite and gives you more colors that are solids. Maybe take out a color from the existing granite other then black and play if off in the island. Make sure tile and cabinets also work with the new color. Zodiac is make by Dupont and is the big brother of corian. It is made with pulverized granite that has the quartz removed.
