What color should I paint my bathroom?

Question:Very small (60 sf). Lots of travertine tile (on floor, in shower on chair rail) and black granite. Vanity and cabinet are in an espresso (dark, dark brown almost black) finish. I want a monochormatic look -- lighter shade above chair rail, darker below. My initial thought was a brown, but now I'm leaning towards green -- like an olive-ish green. White trim/ceiling.

Any thoughts?

Answers:
actually, the green sounds great! I am partial to greens and blues though! You could also do a beige or light color paint and sponge another color on it!

Sounds like a nice bathroom, look at Benjamin Moore;
brandon beige CC-530
or
flagstone CC-516
because you have natural materials in your bathroom and you want a sort of monochromatic feel, either of these colours will look great. brandon beige will feel a little more green than the flagstone which will feel a little more taupe/brown. both are good earthy colours yet contemporary colours...very serene.
We did over our hall bath 2 yrs ago. I chose the color BEFORE I chose the theme/decor/towel sets. Big mistake.

Decide now what theme you want, find the towels, few accessories. THEN decide what color to bring out on the walls.

Been there ,done that - learned the hard way...
Check out some of the great online tools where u can go in and pick a color of your choice and they'll show you a room with that color scheme.
