Redecorating my daughters rooms 8 and 11 I am looking for some bedroom ideas can anyone help?

always go for plain walls. it will be cheaper and will take less time to redecorate when your children outgrow the decor. also, we all know furniture can be expensive so go for furniture that have no kid's theme on them. do the flowers, or disney theme, barbies, etc. with bed sheets, curtains, pillows, posters, and such. kids will outgrow these things so it's more practical to keep the walls and furniture plain. it is much easier to replace pictures and bed sheets than walls and furniture...hope i make sense and good luck!
you can put pink flower wallpapers and the bed`s sheets color should match w/ the wallpaper and put some flowers too.
Butterflies and dragonflies are fun. You can get appliques at Walmart. I am a fan of pale yellow for girls- it is cheerful but not too girly. My daughter's room is yellow with purple accents in the curtains, pillows, and bedding. Try looking at Pottery Barn Kids for ideas- the stuff can be high, but the ideas can be done for less.
What kinds of things are the girls interested in?
When I decorated a room for my niece, she looked Disney Princesses, so I painted the top half of the wall white, and the bottom pink. I added a Disney Princesses border to the join and then added murals to each wall, Cinderella & Snow White, Ariel & the one from Beauty & the Beast. Along side I added much smaller a few of the other characters from each film, but it sparked it up a little. It does take a little more time, but the look of delight on her face made it worth it. I also added plenty of storage space, for clothes, games & toys, a simple lamb and something to play music on, meant that (I hope) she would spend many hours in her room enjoying it.
ask them what they want or what they are interested in and start there that is what i did and yes every few years we have changed the rooms so try to keep it smiple like painting its easier to change for curtains see if you can find reniments at fabric store or local department stores if you can sew make the curtains keep beding solid or neutral colors i make quilts so i put alot of different colors in it so the room can be changed and it goes with it
hi. Just a couple of weeks ago, I wanted to buy some new furniture for my small apartment and checked some websites for ideas. I hope this website can help u. Good luck! www.designtalk.homevisions.com...
First, keep in mind your older one will be sprouting hormones any minute now! Don't make her room juvenile.
1] what are their favorite colors? [ paint ]
2] what are their favorite characters/books/sports/hobbie...
[ bedding or wall decor ]
3] let them help plan. Ask for ideas [ more than one, some will be easier than others ]
4] take them shopping for their rooms, and get them to help paint.
stick with a fun but simple color for the walls and instead of a border run a thin type of rope around the top of the wall and buy some of those little cute clothes pins form a craft store, they can hang their favorite pics, art projects and other things as their very own personalized border, and if there tastes change in a month or two, just let them hang new pics with the clothes pins
