How do you remove ceramic tiles from plaster walls? Can you do so without harming the plaster?
Question:The plaster walls are from the early 20th century and in either the 70's or 80's, the previous owner attached either ceramic or plastic tiles to our bathroom walls. I'm sensing a complete gutting, but hate the idea of losing the lovely plaster.
Answers:
Plaster that old was applied by hand and most likely is moldy and rotted by now. Even if it is in good condition getting the tiles off will be next to impossible. I'd just plan to gut the room and start new.
I've never seen it done without harming the plaster.
knock the old tile off then fix the wall nothing technical about this job.
