Cost estimate for professional painting?

Question:Does anyone have a guesstimate for how much it would cost to hire someone to paint the exterior of a stucco house? The house itself is 800 square feet. No patch work needed, just paint. I'm getting some pretty expensive estimates and wanted to know if this is average. Thank you.

Unfortunately, it varies to the area u live & state. I've been told by a prof.. that to paint they usually take the sq ft & x's it by 2-5 & that would b the cost that would include their supplies. Depending on how many coats, etc. Stucco is harder to paint than a normal wood house due to the variations of texture. Even tho' they would most likely use a sprayer... rent one from Home Depot or Lowes & do it u'rself to save some $$.

We need to do r stucco house & I'm aimin to do it myself. My neighbor did his block wall w/ a rented sprayer & his gate & I think he said it cost less than $100.00 including rental. It was $40 or $60 for 4hrs.. U can really whip out a lot in that time w/ a sprayer. That's the way I'm going.

My husband is a professional painter and usually the cost is around a 3-4 $ sq foot, but painters charge different amounts. You may get a rookie painter who says he/she is a "professional" and be cheaper and end up with a crappy job. I also dont recommend if you have never used a spray machine to experiment on the stucco on your house, leave it to a professional and have it done right the first time.
