I have a huge problem with one bedroom that i am trying to paint, after being wallpapered forever.?
Question:We try painting over wallpaper, but it started to come off after it dried. We tried to pull off paper and the paper covering on sheetrock came off. We have tried primeing it and that does not look promising, next we are going to try and replaster the whole room. If that does not work, maybe I should try paneling the wall. After that does not work I will nail the door shut never to be seen again. thank you for reading about my problems again. God Bless you and yours!

If you can pull the top layer off of the wallpaper and it leaves the paper backing, you can usually use a wet sponge, go over the paper backing with water. The water will rehydrate the wallpaper paste so that the paper can be easily peeled off the wall. Then just clean the wall with a clean sponge before painting. If the paper comes off of the drywall, just go over the spots with a thin layer of drywall mud, sand, prime and then paint.
There's a product just for this. It's called Anaglypta. It's a heavily textured - a million choices - wallpaper. It comes white and it's intended that you paint over it. It isn't cheap and you've have to order it from a wallpaper store, but will take care of any damaged wall.

Been there, done that. You can buy thinner drywall to place over the existing wall. That is going to be your best solution.
Did you try wallpaper stipper? There are special tools and chemicals for that. Once that is off, you should sandpaper the wall with 80 grit, then 120, to allow the paint to stick. If that doest work, you may have weird chemicals absorbed in the wall that are not allowing paint to stick. You might have to redo the walls.
If you want to give painting over the wallpaper another shot, make sure you use and oil based paint, and not a waterbased or latex paint since you are haveing a problem with it peeling.
