How do I get wallpapper glue off my walls?

Question:I took all of my old wallpaper off of my walls and now my walls are covered with the glue. Is there something I can mix up at home to clean my walls?

Answers:
The easiest way to remove this glue is to use a spray bottle filled with blue car windshield washer liquid. No kidding. Just spray it on, lightly scrape and wipe off the walls. It really does work.

I know that some people are telling you to use fabric softener, but this is REALLY messy and slimy and you'll have to rinse many times to get it off. Don't believe me? Go put some fabric softener on your hands and rub it in. Then try and remove it...

Also, if you use fabric softener and want to paint your walls after, you better make ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that the fabric softener is TOTALLY off the walls because you won't be able to properly apply your paint... It will peel off and bubble if you don't get the slime off. Oh... and fabric softener is way more expensive than car windshield washer fluid... which you also won't have a problem getting off the walls. In fact, you won't have to rinse at all.

And sure, you can use a brand of wallpaper glue remover. basically, you'll be buying windshield washer fluid dressed up and sold at a ridiculously high price!

Enjoy your new glue-free wall!

you can get a solution you mix with water and sponge on the walls. good luck! :)
Use an enzyme-based wallpaper remover. Roll it on with a paint roller or brush, then scrape it off with a paint scraper.
Get it wet, really wet, use a sponge, and warm water, its messy but it works really well! Good luck!
Elbow grease and some sandpaper.

If you use anything liquid, the sheet rock will get wet...not a good thing.

Just sand down the walls, cover in a good primer, like Kilz, and then paint with interior latex paint.
Use a clean spray bottle and mix one part liquid fabric softner to three parts water. Spray on and let it saturate, then it wipes right off.
Steam it off or buy a product that removes for wallpaper.
Good old soap and water and a lot of elbow grease ( scrubbing )
fabric softner
You can use a steamer, or you can try warm water with some liquid Downy Fabric Softener in it. Get as much off as you can. If you are going to paint the walls you should apply an oil based primer/sealer to the walls first.
I recommend using Sherwin Williams Alkyd Problock Oderless Primer/Sealer. It's just like oil based Kilz, but without all of the strong oder that makes you higher than a kite when using it.
After I remove all of the paper and glue I use this product before applying the finish coat.

I just did this.ergh! I t is a slow and time consuming project. If you have one layer and it was put up properly - shouldn't be too hard. However, if you have wallpaper like in the house I just bought - good luck. One room 12x15 took about 12 man hours to take off and clean walls. It had too layers we used steamer from home depot and fabric softner or DIF. Score the walls and spray them till it is dripping on the floor. The second and larger room - we resheet rocked. took less time and felt better about building then demoliting - plus we have brand new walls. The third room the paper is really stcuk and was painted over once before - we will tape some seems and paint over it. I hate wallpaper hangers that don't prep properly..good luck
what i did with my ten year old vynil wall paper (which is the hardest thing ever) is warm water and a paint scraper.just be careful not to gouge ur wall
Warm water. keep it wet for at least 10mins, then use a scraper.
