I have a red dining room with white crown and picture molding. What color drapes should I use?
Question:I have a brown table and red china.
Answers:
Waverly has some beautiful striped fabrics that you could use to pick up the red, the brown, and some accent colors like cream, gold, and a muted spring green. A long striped curtain that "puddles" on the ends of a long curtain rod is a really elegant look. You don't even have to have real curtains that go all the way across, but have a sheer that covers the window to protect your furniture and floors from the sun, with side panels in a sophisticated stripe to bring a little extra color into the room -- start with a cream-based color, though, to balance the red and the brown.
i would go with white but if you could find a pretty red and white pattern that would look nice also
Olive green will look very high end and pretty.
And mocha or camel colored window decorations/ drapes will be great.
Look at a color wheel, and whatever colors are directly opposite or complimentary to the shade of red which you use, will bring out the room and make it look classy!
Well it definetly shouldn't be red or white, you need a third color to balance the boldness of the two with eachother, use something simple more of a natural color like a cream or a very light green.
Wow this is a great question. Here are some really good pictures of red dining rooms that I found...hope this helps!

Most of the pictures I saw didn't have any curtains.the rooms were heavily decorated so you didn't even notice there wasn't any drapes. They look really nice too!
