I would like to install a stainless steel countertop. Where do I start? Is there a cheap way to do this?
Question:I am in the Boston area doing a condo conversion and the condos have a short 6 feet of countertop, then the stove, then about 2 more feet. I have had no luck finding stainless steel countertop vendors or supplies. Any ideas?

Ikea should have 4 ft sections. http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/se...
Product dimensions
Width: 49 5/8 "
Depth: 25 1/4 "

This product is a free standing table, but since everything from Ikea is shipped flat and you have to assemble it, you should be able to just use the top as a countertop. You could have a machine shop cut the countertop to fit your dimensions for a reasonable price.
This is on the Canada version of the website, but you may be able to find it in your local store.
Also, check Restaurant supply houses. They may have similar Stainless table tops.
Try sheet metal shops. They can fabricate exactly what you want.
