Bed blocks?

Question:I need to lift my bed by a few inches, but all the risers I can find are for beds with post/wheels. The headboard has 1x6 pieces of wood for it's legs. Does anyone know of a bed riser that would support both the post & the headbord? PS I have hardwood floors & don't wanna scratch them w/whatever I end up using. Thanks

What we used for our son's dorm room was 4 concrete blocks. Of course you should use some sort of material on the bottoms of the blocks to protect your flooring. What I would suggest is leftover carpeting with the backing of the carpeting glued to the bottom of the concrete block. That will leave the carpet next to the floor and will protect the floor nicely. I find that the concrete blocks, even though not the most beautiful way to raise your bed (are any of these risers pretty? no) BUT the concrete blocks will hold anything and they will not fall over because they're heavy and big enough for a bed post to rest on. You might want to get a bed skirt to put between the mattress and the box springs so you can cover the view of underneath the bed. Good luck!!

You might have to make your own out of some kind of wood.
Just glue felt on the underside to keep from damaging the floor. I'd paint them or stain them so they blend in with the floor, then glue the felt on the bottom side.
