A creme, cookie-dough like color... Maybe, Oat Straw [740C-3], or hampton [750D-7]... Just to stay neutral and matching w/ you other items...
Ok, I am 15 and I am obsessed with redecorating my room! I have done it so many times. Coming from experience, if you get tired of things quickly, my advice would be to pick something neutral like you said. Don't be daring and paint your room like hot pink or lime green. I have done it before and I got so tired of it right away! Paint your walls a neutral color and then get splashes of bright colors in accesories.
Hope this helps! :)
My room was the softest softest green. It was very pretty and soothing. My room was decorated with navy blues, lavender and lime green accents. I loved it.
Benjamin Moore has three blues that go really beautifully with white (your furniture) and beige (your carpet): Blue Lapis, Summer Blue and Old Blue Jeans. Softened Violet is also nice -- more of a blue than a purple, so don't worry!
You can order samples of them at www.benjaminmoore.com or from your local retailer that carries Benjamin Moore paints. They'll sell you 2 oz. samples that you can paint big rectangles on your walls with, to see what the color will look like on each wall at each time of day. Our bedroom was Blue Lapis with cream trim (closet door insets, window frame, baseboards and crown molding) and it was truly the most restful place to go to sleep and calming place to wake up ever!!
No, I don't work for Benjamin Moore, I promise -- I've just found their website easiest to work with for all kinds of decorating projects and ideas. GOOD LUCK!
I light purple is very pretty. Its also a neutral and relaxing and calm. This is how my room was done a couple years ago and I absolutely loved it. It can go with just about everything! So if you wanted to change your room, you wouldn't have to worry about repainting your walls because, like I said, it will go with about everything and stand out when you want it too.
