Can I install a "ceiling light" on a wall? This is an exterior light for a deck.?

Question:The box says it is an outdoor ceiling light, but I want to put it on the exterior wall instead of the ceiling; it is 17" x 17" x 6" deep, basically a square that mounts flush. By looking at it, I can't see any reason why I wouldn't be able to mount it like one would a sconce light, just don't know if there is some reason why I shouldn't. Thanks much for any help!

Answers:
If it mounts flush to the ceiling is should work fine on the wall..Good Luck..

sure.
the only problem I think is the direction of the light it will give on your deck maybe not a pretty/good one.
I did the same thing with an indoor ceiling light using in a small closet on the wall. It works fine ... but it is slightly trickier to remove the glass cover to change the bulb.
It should work.
