Expanding table?
Question:My grandmother lived in a mobile home. I always loved her table. She would pull it out from the wall and it just kept expanding and she just kept adding more leaves to it. Does anyone know what that kind of table is called? It had rails that folded us and come out as you pulled to put the leaves on.

Marlene,
My grandmother had one too! It even had little lions carved on the legs. My family called it a "harvest table" because when the harvest crews came through to harvest the wheat, the table would expand to feed the crew lunch. I remember it expanding for at least 20 feet. It was really heavy, even with all the leaves out. We purchased a similar one at an antiques store that expands to about 15 feet. I love it! My husband made leaves to expand the original 5 foot to about 12. I keep telling him if he made 3 more feet of leaves we'd optimize table capabilities.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
It's called a "gate leg" table
