Has anyone ever painted furniture/upholstery with fabric paint? And is it durable?

My daughter did it to a chair she recovered. It really does wear pretty well and still looks pretty funky. She liked it and that's the big thing. It is something that can be washed gently. Just don't put anything on the arms or the knee parts because they wouldn't be as durable.
