Futons? Pleas Answer!?
Question:Are futons comfortable for 2 people to sleep on?? My family is thinking about getting one for our cabin. Please Help!

they can be, if you get a good mattress, there are even futon mattress's that have springs in them. you can go to a futon or furniture store that has futons and ask to try out the different types of futon mattress's that they have. the more comfy ones are a lot more expensive tho, i must warn you.
but i really like futons!
Futons are never comfortable, unless you move them for more space on the floor.
If you throw the mattress on the floor it ain't too bad.
Yes they are very comfortable. Just make sure that you get one that is long enough. Some have sides, and you have to sleep curled up.
Yes, of course the more expensive futon matresses are more comfortable, butyou can buy a really cheap (metal?) frame (if you dont care how it really looks) and then get an expensive matress. Also, you can buy those theraputic foam-like matress pads and put one on top of the matress, to add comfort, cover the matress and the pad with a futon cover, then cover that with a fitted sheet. Looks nice...
When my husband and I got married we got a futon and we still have it after 3 years. We only used it as a couch, but we slept on it a couple times. We have one of the less expensive ones and it's pretty comfortable. The more expensive are more comfortable.
Get one of the futon mattresses that has springs inside. The ones that are just cotton batting or cotton over foam flatten and get hard fairly quickly. You may not notice that as much in a part-time cabin use though.
As long as you get a quality futon it can be very comfortable. My husband and I used one as a bed for years.
My father owns a wooden frame futon. He bought a different mattress for it. The higher priced futons are better not only in comfort, but in style. My ex fiancee and I (oth on the larger side) slept on it every time we came to visit. I actually liked sleeping on the futon more than I did our queen size bed. They are actually great because you can fold them and your bedding up in the day time and have a "couch" then fold it down at night and have a bed.
