If you want an interesting one -- get a picnic table(without the benches) place family photos around on the top - then put an inexpensive piece of glass on top of that -- It wil be very individual and a conversation piece
Try the martha stewart living collection at k-mart. Wal-mart and Target has nice in-expensive sets.
Have you tried Big Lots? Their furniture has been pretty good quality for me, for very resonable prices.
Try Ikea. They have good tables there!
Try antique stores, even the Salvation Army. If you're able to invest a little time looking, you may score. Also, check local want ads. People moving away and not wanting to ship all their furniture could be a good source. Estate sales and auctions are fun, and could yield something nice at a bargain price.
