Does Vastu Shastra recommend that the bathroom and toilet should be separate?
Question:From hygiene point of view too, isn't it better to have the Bathroom [bathing space] and Toilet [WC/Lavatory] in separate rooms? This was so in earlier houses and was more efficient too as two persons could separately use the two at the same time. Also the entrances used to be outside the bedrooms in the corridor to enable privacy and cleanliness. Why are bathroom and toilet combined in new houses with entrances within bedrooms and also located in undesirable places other than the south-west quadrant?

this is the best i can do for you. from the hygiene point of view. with the quality of cleaning materials, if the bathrooms are kept as clean as they should be there shouldn't be a hygiene problem. if there is only one bathroom in a house it is usually in a Central location for everyone to use.
separate bathroom is good if you have enough space in your house. we have to consider, having a separate toilet and bath would require more space. if we push to have it separated, having a small space, there is also difficulty in cleaning.
