I live in a small studio (so its only one room inc.kitchen) and I need advice to make it more soundproof.?

Question:Does anyone know any tricks to help me? I cannot add new doors or change the structure of the house as such. The main problem is I have large windows taht face out to the busy street...HELP i cant sleep!!?!

Answers:
Take sheets and place batting in the middle of the pannels of sheets. It is very easy to sew. It makes for a look of a thin comforter.,...you then put your normal curtains on top like normal. Or you can be more creative and use them as your window coverings. The sheet is hooked with velcro and causes no holes on the wood. It works here where the winter is bad to keep out the cold air to.

Also you can use throw blanket with a cool design, but you will not get the noise control that yu do with the batting roll. Local Walmart has the batting rolls pretty cheap and the velcro strips.

Have you considered heavy drapes. The thicker the fabric the more noise it will absorb.
Hope this helps.
