Drylok question?

Question:My Contractor says this stuff will finish like stucco, and will be strong enough that I will not need to fill any concrete inside my blocks for strength.. I would like to know if anyone disagrees with this. I'm not trying to waterproof., I'm finishing outside post

Answers:
Drylok is Portland Cement and Rubber in a Paint form, The Oil base is the best product, The Latex is not a good product, for my customers i only use the OIL. It has a sandy finish But NOT like stucco. It definetly penetrates inside the block to provide a barrier for moisture, but 3-5 years from will need to be recoated, always use 2 coats 24 hours apart, always brush it on and this product will work fine outside...

It should work well. The concern would be freezing and thawing. If you live where it freezes and thaws often it might crack
