I would like to buy a surface saver, glass or similar, able to be let in to existing work surface.?

Question:I have one in use for 25+ years, with aluminium trim, and need another.

Answers:
consider plexiglass

Hi Doreen, these are no longer manufactured to inset.
Take your existing one out carefully and take it and the trim to your local glass or glazing company. They will make you a replacement chopping board from tempered glass BUT you cannot get the trim so be very careful with it.
Have you thought of using Corian? It looks like marble and is great to use. It can be shaped and the edges moulded with a router. Very hard wearing, scrubbable and will practically last forever. But it could be expensive. Do a Google search and check it out.
Corian is used for kitchen worktops and sinks where they are all moulded in one.
