Does anyone know how to wrap a curtain scarves around a rod??

Question:I know this sounds simple enough, but..I just want that wrapped look..are there any tips?? Do I pull it out to fluff..maybe Im just chicken to try this myself. Any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Answers:
Start in both the middle of the rod and the middle of the fabric. Wrap one half of the fabric in front of the rod and half behind. If you want to, you can make a loose knot in the middle to have both swags in the front. If not, continue to use the rod to drape the fabric in front and behind, loosening the fabric from bottom to top of each swag you drape. The bottom will always require releasing more fabric than the top to maintain the swag. If you want the swag tighter, simply pull the fabric over the rod tighter. You can stuff the wraps with those plastic grocery bags if you want a tightly wrapped rod. But no matter how you do the wraps or swags, make certain that when you get to the end of the rod, you either have used up all of the fabric (if you want the valance look) or you have equal amounts of fabric on both sides if you want a drapery look.

PS I just saw a beautiful gold sheer at Linens N Things (Design Expo Home Depots design store has the same thing for twice the price). Check out the close outs at both Linen N Things and Bed Bath and Beyond, they discontinue some beautiful sheers at really reasonable prices.

I would do it just like the other person described. Fold fabric in half (longways) Mark the middle with a straight pin. Fold over rod in middle and go for it. Straight pins work wonders. It is not hard, but not as easy as you think. Make sure you have plenty of time and patience. It will look great. I have always done mine that way.
Good Luck! I have used sheer panels.(they are already hemmed) If you need to pin them together, that will work or use a rubber band and gather them together. It will make a little rosette in the center...
Good Luck!
I have had a lot of luck using curtain hold backs. Find some really cute ones you like and that match and then put them to the right/left of each side of the window at an angle with the 'U' shape facing up towards the celing. (no more than a slight angle like this / ) Then I would wrap the scarf around one side and then pull it to the other side of the window and wrap that side the same way. This sounds a little confusing so If you want to e-mail me I can send you some pictures of how I have mine..

In the end it will look like this only with Hold Backs in the corners.
