How can I make my room really cool and funky?
Question:I'm almost 13 and I like fun funky things with lots of colors, but i have no cash to paint or anything. I have a purple comforter but I don't want alot of purple in my room. Thanks! =)

Well, decorating generally takes money. You may think of saving up for a can of paint or two. Paint is the easiest, cheapest way to change a room. You could paint the walls your favorite color and then use a metallic paint on the door or a piece of furniture. If you had colorful walls, then your purple comforter would stand out less. If you really hate purple, then buy a box of RIT dye at CVS for about $5 to dye the comforter. Just make sure you are dying it a darker shade or the color may turn out weird.
Then you may want to poke around your basement or attic for cool things. Maybe your parents have neat decor from their past, like an old bean bag chair, a throw rug, a street sign, or a funky table.
Collages are a really fun, inexpensive way to express yourself. Rolling Stone magazine has a lot of colorful images that are good for collages. Just make sure you ask your parents what the best way to hang your collages is.
Finally, keep your room clean. A clean room always looks nicer than a dirty room and your friends will be much more likely to want to hang out in your room if it is clean.
Yard sales. My daughter a lot of posters, lava lamps and a lot of those bright funky pillows.
Even if you can't do it all at once, just pick up one or two things here and there. You can even decorate things you already have in your room, like putting a bright fur trim around a bulletin board. Just use your imagination and be creative.
first if you were to paint walls in color it would be very difficult to paint over and a lot of hard work. i like to use hanging strands on the closets instead of doors. and put up paintings of collages or even funky like hang the coolest but oddest outfits on the wall. these things are very unusual and very cool looking one done. its also very personable and unique. oh also cheep
Draw,paint,write funky stuff and hang them in Ur room itll make it look funky and fab!
