Blue carpets in living room and dining room and up the stairs?

Question:I really want to paint my walls, they are boring white...what colors should I go with also I have a fire place with brick and white stucko should I paint that also...I am open to color

Answers:
I wouldn't fret over your blue carpet, surprisingly blue is making a huge come back. I would like you to look at some of these Benjamin Moore colours
flurry cc-100
muslin cc-110
stone house cc-120
(you didn't mention the brick colour on fireplace) but you could paint the walls 110, the stucco 100 and the brick 120. this would look great with your carpet. If you want more colour than this, look at a pale creamy yellow like white rock cc-160 or pale blue, polar sky cc-790.
colour trends are heading back to nature (again) so brown, blue, green, yellow.etc.

cremes, yellows, soft greens, beige's, subtle pinks (make your skin tone look gorgeous), soft peaches...to name a few. what is your favorite color? what would you like your home to feel like?
go to some furniture stores and look at the color combos they have. look through magazines and find ideas. the ideas are endless, but they depend on what you want - what you will be happy with.
hope this helps.
Are you able to pull this carpeting out? If not, try a medium
sand color up the staircase and into the living room and use
3 shades darker of the same color for the fireplace and
dining room. Against the fireplace, try to find a very large
abstract seascape with some of the blue colors of the rug
and in the dining room, follow through the ocean theme
with pictures of shells and perhaps seashores of the
world in photography. White looks very good for accents
with these two colors, especially in summer and when
the seasons change, you can bring in some corals
and deeper colors in your accessories.
I know this would be a huge undertaking, but are you open to 86ing that carpet. From a 2007 point of view, blue carpet is ugly - even if it is brand spanking new. It's kinda like ceiling fans on a popcorn ceiling. It's an instant date stamp. Plus, dining rooms and stairs shouldnt be carpeted.

I think I would work with a color palette of light and chocolate browns. Prime the fireplace really good and then paint it a nice chocolate brown. See if you can find a great crown molding based mantle and paint that white it would be awesome. I would then use the light brown (think a little darker than khaki) for the walls and then keep your trim white. Take a trip to the fabric store and look for some drapery fabric with red stripes. That was generic, but it is generic for a reason. I want you to find what stands out to you. I could recommend you 30 different fabrics and give you the stock number, but you might not like them.

Hope this helps!
dark green
light yellow
idk
the stairs should have a medium to darker tone, because of the amount of foot traffic that it takes everyday. A lighter color will show the wear a lot faster than say a medium neutral or darker tone.

Blue carpet is fine for the living room, depending on the tone of the blue. Blue is a calming/relaxing color and that can work well in the LV or dining room.Just don't go too dark, because a real heavy/dark color can be too intense.
Can you take out the blue carpet? If not, maybe you should go with an off white or a creamy yellow ( photo below).
