Answers:
Assuming that the building is not "Listed" then you do not require planning permission for solely internal alterations. However, depending on the extent of the works you may need Building Regulations approval. This is determined by whether you are intending to provide, for example, an en suite bathroom, a new window or removing any part of the existing structure. That you will have to check with the Building Control Section of the Council for your own protection. Just a quick extra word if you are intending to put in a new window which is in part an external alteration - the type of building and whether any planning conditions were imposed when it was built, will dictate whether you will need planning permission for that element of your proposal. It is impossible to give you a definitive answer on this and only the council will hold any relevant details relating to your specific property.
looks like u asked at the wrong time or the wrong place.
you will not need planning for that ..you are well inside the law ..make sure you don't screw into any pipes or cables ..and you must soundproof the stud wall
Make sure if it's a bedroom that you have a window in it.
Best ring the council not sure what council Sheffield is, just in case because if you do need it but don't they can make you put it back as it was.
