Please help!!!!!?
Question:I am trying to remove this horrible wallpaper in my bathroom.I am having extreme difficulty. The people who apparently built my house, did not seal the drywall at all before they put up the wall paper that is on it. I scored the paper and put a mixture of fabric softner and water on it. Then I waited for it to soak then proceded to remove the paper. (keep in mind I have already removed the same paper in my other bathroom, and it came off just fine.) The first layer of wallpaper came off, but the backing didn't. The backing is still stuck to the drywall. I need an easier way to get it off. Right now I am pretty much scraping it off in little thin strips. VERY IRRITATING! I have tried warm water, respraying the mix of fabric softner and water, and also just letting it dry to see what would happen. Nothing has worked. Does anyone have any ideas??! Please help me.

I've never had any luck with Diff or any other solution but good hot water and soak it up good, scrape it or you can rent a steamer BUT in your case I'd prime your walls with an oil based primer/sealer like "Cover Stain" made by Zinseer (same people that make Diff) let dry and then lightly sand the walls, if they look good put a good quality latex paint on them, if not skim coat with joint compound 3 times lightly sanding in between coats, the key is light coats of mud and lightly sand, use 150 or 220 grit sand paper and then repeat the process of priming and painting, sounds hard but it's not you can do it, the hardest part is waiting for the mud to dry, take your time and Good luck, Les the painter
There is a commercial product called Dif that is made for stripping wallpaper. Another thing you might try is to use the shower to get the bathroom real steamy. We had a similar problem resulting in the wall becoming damaged to the point that we decided to retexture the wall before painting.
rebt a steamer
There are a number of products that you can buy at walmart or home depot but there is another option and that is to rent a steamer. This can be a messy job and you have to work really quickly with it. You have to steam a stip and peel it off aand be sure not to get the wall too wet. You can usually rent them in tool rental places.
i was gonna say the same thing ..DIF. Go 2 u'r paint store & there r diff ones for removing wallpaper. It's frustrating, I know... I had bamboo & we ended up sanding the sucker to death.
If you have a steamer, that will usually work. The steam melts the glue.
