Wall color? Help!!?
Question:I’m moving in a couple weeks and I need help because I want to paint the living and the dining and I’m having trouble deciding. I have a deep red couch and a purple ottoman, and my dining table is brown. I also have an entertainment center and it’s also brown but it’s kind of glossy. First I was thinking “brown for the main wall in the living” but I’m not so sure it will go with my ottoman (maybe it will look too dark). Then I thought “a bright green is a good option” and it will go great with my ottoman, but will it go with my brown furniture?? I need colors that will look good together because the apartment has a pretty wide open space that will be the living room next to the dining room

Dear wall color Help,
There a a few ways that could make you room look great. If you like a more art deco look, use your colors as primaries and add a yellow color wall in the same value(depth) of your couch and ottoman, take the 3 colors and decorate the room with throw pillows in yellow and drapes in maybe red ( red and yellow are complementary) ckeck out my sight for samples.
A more conservative approach would be a yellow tipped beige. So a beige but yellowy I recommend Ralph Laurens Tangier Island color (homedepot) and in a flat or eggshell never semigloss too much shine throws light around. neither of these colors are what you expected , however the color on your walls should bring your room together and a dark brown might close it down if you dont have enough lighting or height in your ceilings. Hope this helps :)
I would probably go with yellow or some type of gold..maybe.
Green or a goldish-brown (so it's not too dark) would look good with the furniture. Remember, if you don't like it, it's just paint- you can always re-do it! Hope this helps :)
I think that a really soft tan or vanilla color will really offset nicely with the colors you are working with. In addition, it will help accent the large space that you have to offer.
If all the colours are very strong, the go for a lighter colour on the wall. Maybe take the brown that you are thinking of and lighten it until it is almost a "pastel" shade. I think it would look terrific with the colours you have described.
I would go with a neutral color with a hint of gold/yellow. This would make your couch and ottoman "pop". Your brown furniture will anchor everything so you might not want to add anymore brown.
