If you buy a quilt/comforter cover from a place like ikea do you have to buy an insert or can i.?

Question:I have a down comforter, will it work if i just put that in the quilt/comforter cover? Or do i need to buy an insert? Do those htings work or does it slide all over in there?

Answers:
You can use the same comforter inside of the quilt cover. I have one from Ikea, but it was a pain when I first got it. I discretely put safety pins on the corners and center of the quilt to hold it in place and that wasn't so bad. It helped everything from sliding all over the place once I did that.

a duvet cover goes over the down comforter. Very much for looks and it takes a lot to keep it perfect and straight. Sleeping under it is rather stressful. It moves all around in different directions. I even attached it at the corners, but it still was awful. Not worth the money.
