CHEAP flooring solutions for my finished basement?
Question:I have a 220 sq. ft basement that needs flooring. It's not too glamorous down there, but I'd like it to be nice-ish. I could do linoleum, or laminate. Not too crazy about carpet due to a recent leak...want to stay right around $100 if possible.
I'm in the Cincinnati area, ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Answers:
I watched a program on TV a long time ago about painting concrete floors in the garage and basement. The outcome was awesome. It looked like shiny linoleum and some of them had what looks like sprinkles of different paint chips. I am not doing well at describing the product so I am putting a couple of web sites for you to check out. The pictures can be enlarged so you can get a better view. When I am ready to do my basement, this is what I will be using.
Here is the description from the second website. It does give the price and it is $150 for one garage floor. As you can see it can be used on multiple rooms not just garages.
"Thank you for visiting The Original Color Chip Company Web site. We supply the best and most durable concrete floor paint system on the market today! Our water based epoxy concrete floor paint is most often used as a garage floor coating but it also works great on Laundry Room Floors, Basements, Shop Floors, Concrete Slabs, Porches and Sun Porch floors."
EDIT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: As you can see one kit will do the 220 sq. ft. you have. Not sure of the shipping and handling.

Not much aval. in that price range in any American city, at least new. If you found any flooring at that price I doult you would be very happy with the look or style.
You might try concrete paint w/sealer. If you want comfort, through a throw rug over it. Cheap solution that will look great for a long time.
ceramic tile is nice, check home depot or lowes, linoleum or laminate cant get wet. they have sales alot, like 59 cents a square foot. you will have to install yourself, to keep the cost down, but its not hard to do, and you can rent the tools
What about those sticky, vinyl tiles? That's probably the cheapest you are going to find.
I used indoor outdoor carpet
You can't do to much for $100.
If the floor is new concrete you can stain it...it is better than painting. Paint will peel.
I wouldn't use concrete paint. No matter what you do it'll peel in a year or two. Vinyl comes in nice wood grain finishes but would be over your budget. They do sell concrete stain.

Try that. I think it'd be more durable and look the best.
220 sq. ft.? 100.00? The only solutions I have is to use an oil based paint specifically for concrete floors, or use the sticky tiles that cost about $10.00 per box(at Dollar General). You can also try Value City they have a variety of quality, less expensive flooring. Good Luck!!
