Blues?? Decorations?

Question:i want redecorate my room i wanna do like a forties/fifties theme with alot more of the blues side of things like Billie Holiday, Etta James,Sam Cooke kinda thing.i need help in painting my room what colors should i use? i have a walk in closet too that i wanna paint.anything will help im trying not to be limited to one genre because i already have a few pix of James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and Audrey Hepburn.I want to use all these people put to gether in one room i just cant figure out what color(S) to use PLEASE HELP and thank u in advance!!

Well, you can not go wrong with a vintage soft yellow or cream. If you have a lot of pictures to hang you can go bolder with the color. As boring as White sounds, it might not be a bad idea if you paint only one wall a bolder color like red or orange. Anything that will match up with your photos that you already have. I one painted my kitchen a bright yellow, only because I had a lot of wall art to hang and it was a fairly small place. It looked really good but only because it was accented with some darker pieces.
