Room HELP!!!!?
Question:i want to paint one of my walls differently. i was thinking either a checkered boared type thing or poka-dots. any other ideas?? right now my room is a darker shade of blue and i'm going to paint it a lighter shade of blue. what color should the design be if my room is going to be lighter blue and what should the design be?
Answers:
I think a good look rather than polka dots, is to just do random circles of various sizes and in various area as long as you keep the wall pretty balanced.
Do the wall in a lighter blue then the rest of the walls and then do the circles in the darker blue, beige and brown. (or just one or two of these colours).
I think polka dots and checkers can be difficult to paint totally symmetrical and would be rather tedious as well as show any crooked lines easily.
polka dots totally rule!!
Checkerboards are very difficult unless you are a very experienced painter. Polka dots may be easier if you paint the whole wall and then use a round sponge to make the dots.
I heard of a neat idea this week, there is a new magnetic colored paint. You can paint it any color and then attach magnets to it. They sale tons of magnets now with the alphabet, for fridges, etc...
Also there is chalkboard paint. It is black and after it dries you can use that entire wall as a chalkboard..
You could buy and apply some molding around your room about 3 feet off the ground. Paint under the molding dark blue, and above the molding light blue. This way you get both colors without mixing them and confussing the eye. Hope this helps :)
