Thats a loaded question! Meaning there is really no good answer.
If theyre a good contractor they can give you exact sq footage.
If you havent signed a contract with them I would suggest getting one with exact sq footage or find another contractor. I know where I live houses are being built for about $130.00 a sq foot finished so if he built your house 1350sq ft he'd be makin a killin if he charged you 1450 sq ft. You gotta watch contractors.
None. Builders measure the outside dimensions, which will include the thickness of the outside walls. If you are measuring on the inside, you will come up with an incorrect amount.
At least to the measurement of the outside walls he had better be pretty darn close. Of course the walls are going to eat into the size of any floor plan.
