Iwant to paint pine bed white - whats best product to use?

Question:Bed is stained and varnished. do i have to sand down first? What is best paint/product to use for this type of specific job?

Answers:
sand it to give it a key, paint it with a satin white paint, exterior will be more hardwearing.

The job need be no more complicated than that really.

I recommend a decent CD, turned up to number 11, and a couple of spare hours. enjoyable job. oasis and you'll have the job done in 2 hours, Kaite Melua and it might take 4.

emulsion will get grubby quickly, glosee will look old and show up all the imperfections in the wood.

you'll probably want to sand it down a bit to give the paint more surface area to bond to.

I'd suggest a hard-drying, glossy finish acrylic paint. After that you may want to paint a sealant over the paint to keep it from getting scratched and the paint flaking off.
white paint
You would want to lightly sand it with 350 grit sandpaper or a sanding sponge. Then use tack cloth to get rid of all of the loose particles. After this prime the surface with zinsser/bin/1-2-3 primer. This should dry in approx. one hour. Then after this dries I would apply American Tradition Accents-which can be found at Lowe's. It comes in a satin finish which isn't super shiny but should get the job done. Good Luck!
