Does anyone know how to decorate a table for a rainbow tea?

Question:Our church is having a rainbow tea, and I have the job of decorating the entire room and also decorating the main table. Now the main table must tie the entire tea and colors of the rainbow into it. Also it must not be expensive we are on a budge. However I want it to be extremly nice(because it does not have to be expensive to be nice). So far I have gotten what the colors of the rainbow mean but that it. I don't know how I will tie that into a centerpiece for the table. Please help!!

Sounds like fun! I would get material or a flat bed sheet that is blue with clouds, and use this for the table cloth.

Then I would go out and buy the colors of the rainbow in pillar candles. Buy 4inch, 6 inch, 8inch and 10 inch.

Then I would arrange them in a line, down the center of the table, throw in some gold foil chocolate for sparkle.

On the backs of each chair I would take the rainbow colors again and make small chair back toppers. Add a bow or pin a flower to each chair topper. If you want a no sew option, just use a couple yards of white gauze to represent clouds, and add a rainbow bow.

I had one at my church a few monthes ago and my opinion is to tie a bow around a few of those plastic (but real looking) daisy flowers that are brightly colored and put them in a vase. Joan's craftstores always have them. Good Luck!
The centerpeice could consist of silk flowers in all the colors of the rainbow with a few candles, also, in the colors of the rainbow. These should be able to be found inexpensively at WalMart or similar places. If possible, you could also use ribbons in rainbow colors on the table. Use different color tableclothes on the rest of the tables in the room.
Use what you have at church, and add to it.
Get a centerpiece of flowers in the rainbow colors, or candles in the colors, or use both.
Make a big rainbow backdrop behind the main table.
Add the flower centerpiece, and put a different color candle on each table.
Or, make a candle centerpiece, and add a different color flower on each table.
[ Your church may already have vases and candle holders - check before you buy or borrow.]
Go to the party store , and get rainbow confetti - toss on each table.
Ask refreshment committee what colors they are using for punch, plates, napkins, so they can also coordinate.
You can get some crepe paper the color of the rainbow and make pom-poms to tape to the corner of the table. The center can have a vase with the colors in it.Then maybe a rainbow bow around the vase. The tables can be covered with cheap table clothes for their color and down the middle more streamers for rainbow effect.Rolls of streamers and silk flowers re the cheapest way to go.hope this helps...
