What materials are most durable for a couch? We are selecting from acrylic, polyester and cotton, %s differ.?

Question:We are having couches and chairs custom made and are looking for a durable fabric. Selections include acrylic, polyester and cotton of varying percentages. What should we look for in a fabric? Of course the finish and colors will also be important but what fabrics wear well?

Answers:
Fabrics aren't just determined by their content, they're determined by their weave and how they are colored. If you want durability I'm implying you have either a) pets or b) kids or c) both. So forget cotton. Synthetics are always better at stain resistance. But keep the weave of the fabric tight, and buy up on the grade available (fabric is graded, like A,B, etc.) and the higher the grade, the better the fabric. Make your salesperson explain this to you!
