I want to include polystyrene bead in my pillow invention, so can anyone use it or is it patented?

Polystyrene beads are sold at craft stores, so I believe they can be used by anyone.
I think people prefer different fillings in different types of pillows, but that there is an openmindedness towards new and different fillings--ten years ago who would have believed we'd want buckwheat hull pillows? People with allergies often react to feathers, so I'd try to find things that aren't allergens for pillows you plan to sell.
