Best tool to tackle painting around doors, trim, windows, etc.?
Question:I usually use the blue tape...but is there an even better tool or technique to handle this part of the painting process? It takes forever!!
Answers:
Cheap contact (the plastic used to cover excercise books), you can reuse it, it peels off easily without leaving sticky residue, and you can coat the whole pane of glass. Then get a flat razor blade and scrape off and excess paint that might remain after you've removed the contact.
No, take your time, use the tape and do it right. You will have a nice finished product. It is well worth the effort. I have bought 100's of dollars worth of painting supplies, and always end up with the basics.
2 1/4" trim brush the ones cut with a slant and dont dip it to far in the paint then cut your lines with the short sid of the brush nearest the tape (if you need tape) if you use tape and get sloppy you will need to use a razor to cut the edge before pulling the tape or you risk pulling the tape. take your time , remember karate kid wax on wax off, up down its all in the wrist patiance is a virtue.
Blue tape is the best!!
Taping is the best way.
use an angled paint brush and do it carefully. make sure you don't have shaky hands or you'll mess up. ask the paint store for suggestions also. and make sure you get the right type of brush for the kind of paint and wall texture.
