Painting Tips Please?
Question:I want to have a smooth finish to my walls within my bedroom is their anything I can do to create that perfect finish just like the dulux brochure? How do I cover up the cracks and get rid of the thick paint that already exisits?
Answers:
Dulux Perfect Finish. You paint it on before you put anything else on your walls and it covers a multitude of things. Marvellous stuff, I moved into this flat just over a year ago and the walls were horrendous, but now look like they have been skimmed. A lot easier than all the messy sanding.
you have to skim over your walls first...use sandpaper..all over...till the walls are smooth....lining paper then paint.try skim coating...if you are not satisfied with what you have done...pollifller..on a wallpaper scraper..smooth over it..any cracks till you have a smooth finish...leave well to dry before painting or papering.do not put your lining paper up before painting if you are not happy with how your walls are.
Go over your walls with a fine grit sand paper (well just in the spots where there is the thick paint) You can fill holes with drywall puddy. I get the kind that is hot pink and once it dries it turns to white. Once it turns to white sand down the spots you patched. As for painting, it is almost impossible to do a 'perfect' job but be paitient and you can get there. When you roll your paint on, roll in a pattern that makes the letter 'N'. Also go from celing to floor, don't do sections. Make sure you don't have too much paint on your roller or you will get drip marks and keep applying even pressure on the roller. It gets tedious but will be worth it in the end! Good Luck
