Silk or polyester that looks and feels like silk in a color like
greenish-grey. Hard to describe. Look at Target.com, Classic Home Silk Collection in Picnic Green or Natural. You could cover the window with a reed or bamboo shade (roll-up) under the curtains. The thing about Zen is the calming effect, the "mind" focus. A bamboo print curtain would also fit. Keep it simple. And clean, nothing fussy.
You could also go to a craft store and get a tall glass vase then fill it with bamboo sticks, or other natural reedy plant things. I love Zen.
How about folding shoji screens?
