Redecorating tips/sites to open up small bedrooms?

Question:I'm redecorating my bedroom, but it is VERY small (8.5' x 10'). I need some tips or sites with tips for redecorating? Thanks!

I also had a tiny bedroom in my teens - but I didn't mind cause I was alone! Hooray!
Start with the furniture. You need a bed, desk/chair, and storage. How about a platform bed with drawers under it?
Or, buy storage bins that fit under it for clothes, etc.
Try to get furniture in same or complementary tones with wall and fabric colors, so the eye flows. ex: yellow walls with all oak furniture; or :
Buy a print with your two favorite colors for bedding, drapes, etc; finish the furniture in color # one and the walls in color # two. A medium to small print looks better in a small room.
If it isn't possible to buy new or refinish furniture, toss a throw
or print in the same colors.
Some great prints could be: flowers, dots, stripes, small plaid or paisley.
A large rug in one of the colors looks great.
